Alcohol, Intimacy, and Violence Policies

Alcohol and Other Drugs

All participants must be of legal drinking age (21+). Alcohol consumption by participants is permitted, both in-character and out-of-character, but you’re expected to drink responsibly and avoid visible intoxication.

A very limited amount of alcohol will be provided in-game, so players hoping to imbibe during or after the game should bring their own supply. Gilmer County is not a dry county, so participants should have no problem purchasing liquor and spirits when arriving at the airport and/or driving into Ellijay.

We reserve the right to send intoxicated players to bed. Intoxication during workshops is strictly prohibited.

Use of illegal drugs during this event is strictly prohibited. Georgia has strict drug regulations, so if you do not have a valid medical prescription for it, do not bring it to the venue.

Intimacy

Real sex is not allowed in-game. In-character sex that might be seen by other participants is represented through theater-style sex with underwear on, and techniques for doing this safely will be covered in workshops. Real kissing and cuddling may occur at this larp. Please be aware that you may witness such scenes as a participant, but you are always free to leave any scene you aren’t comfortable seeing or participating in.

For intimate scenes that occur behind closed doors and out of view of other players, you are free to use fade-to-black, Ars Armandi, or any other representational meta-technique that you’re comfortable with. Safety and personal comfort is always the highest priority.

Nudity is allowed. Undressing down to undergarments can also be used to represent in-character nudity.

Violence

Physical violence is not a major theme in this larp. There may be some depictions of minor acts of interpersonal violence (slaps, small fights, etc), and we’ll cover how to do this safely in the workshops. Violence, like all play at this larp, is opt-out, meaning that any participant can choose not to engage in it or remove themself from any scene where it occurs.
