Alcohol, Intimacy, and Violence Policies

Alcohol and Other Drugs

All participants are must be of legal drinking age (21+). Alcohol consumption by participants is permitted, both in-character and out-of-character, but you’re expected to drink responsibly and avoid getting overly intoxicated.

Use of illegal drugs during this event is strictly prohibited. Georgia has strict drug regulations, so if you do not have a valid medical prescription for it, please do not bring it to the venue.

Intimacy

Depictions of intimacy and simulations of sex are allowed at this larp, and techniques for how to engage in them safely will be covered thoroughly in workshops in advance of gameplay.

For public scenes involving intimacy, we have opted for the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) style of play. What this means:

  • Real kissing and cuddling may occur at this larp.
  • If you are playing out a sex scene in view of others, whatever you act out is what witnesses see and what forms the canon of the story. In the workshop, we will cover tips and techniques for performing theater-style sex scenes.
  • We will not police intimate scenes that occur behind closed doors. You are free to use fade-to-black, ars armandi, or any number of approaches when out of view of other players. Safety and personal comfort is always the highest priority.
  • Nudity is allowed, but by no means required. Undressing down to undergarments can also be interpreted in-game as nudity, if you wish to portray it as such.

Violence

Physical violence is not a major theme in this larp. There may be some depictions of minor acts of interpersonal violence (slaps, small fights, etc), and we will prepare participants with the consent tools, guidelines, and techniques necessary to feel safe engaging in violent scenes. Violence, like all play at this larp, is opt-out, meaning that any participant can choose not to engage in depictions of violence or remove themselves altogether from scenes that include it.
